Also the available resources of the other fish types are not
to be despised. Carps, amurs, crucians, brens, mullets,
barbels, rapfen and zander are present with a good rate of
population. |
We are of the opinion that if a line of river could be
closed equal to 3 km and all fishes could be caught,
one would not believe his own eyes. |
During some events on the Po, the welses become the
absolute protagonists. There are occasions not to lose
and, difficult to forget. |
According to our information, welses have been freed with a total weight of 10 tons
and with single weights between 500 and 1500 grams for the first time in May 1974.
Already in July 1974, the same quantity has been added again. The welses have
been freed along the river conjunctures Oglio, Mincio and Secchia, for a total of
around 3.000.000 samples. The province took care of this intervention to repopulate
the waters since the number of sturgeons was very decimated in precedence, which
means that the professional fishing risked its existence. |
The intent was to give a home to a new sweet water fish in the river Po. Initially the wels was also
fished to commercial purposes, but very quickly came through that this idea was not practicable.
Currently the resources are very good and, during the time they are developed, but nobody is able to
quantify it with precision. Certain is that the welses are multiplying very well and that the pyramid of
age can be defined ideal. |
